Spooktacular Giveaway Hop: The Testament of Jessie Lamb

Spooktacular Giveaway Hop

I decided to participate in I am a Reader, Not a Writer’s  Spooktacular Giveaway Hop this year! What that means for you is that you get to enter to win a book here, and then go enter to win a bunch more awesome book-ish stuff at all the other places at the bottom of the page :D. It’s like, the best thing ever!

The Testament of Jessie Lamb Giveaway! So! I’m giving away The Testament of Jessie Lamb by Jane Rogers. Just so you know, this is a very gently used copy! I have read it, it is paperback, but it’s a flexible book so the spine is just fine. You can check out my four stars review of it or just take my word that this book is pretty rad. Here’s the Goodreads summary:

“A rogue virus that kills pregnant women has been let loose in the world, and nothing less than the survival of the human race is at stake.

Some blame the scientists, others see the hand of God, and still others claim that human arrogance and destructiveness are reaping the punishment they deserve. Jessie Lamb is an ordinary sixteen-year-old girl living in extraordinary times. As her world collapses, her idealism and courage drive her toward the ultimate act of heroism. She wants her life to make a difference. But is Jessie heroic? Or is she, as her scientist father fears, impressionable, innocent, and incapable of understanding where her actions will lead?

Set in a world irreparably altered by an act of biological terrorism, “The Testament of Jessie Lamb” explores a young woman’s struggle to become independent of her parents. As the certainties of her childhood are ripped apart, Jessie begins to question her parents’ attitudes, their behavior, and the very world they have bequeathed her.”

Awesome right?? The Testament of Jessie Lamb will make you laugh and cry and want to fight the good fight. Basically, enter to win! But only if you live in the USA unfortunately :(.

Also, funny story, I actually won this book from Ria at Biblitropic (and got permission to give it away again) so it’s a book with a lot of stories already ;-). It’d be really cool if the winner gave it to a friend after they read it or something :D. Not that you have to, just saying ;-).

  1. I think my favorite Halloween costume to date is when I went as my RP character / the main character in my WIP. [Total nerd, I know.] No one knew who I was but I had a blast. :]

  2. It’d be kind of awesome to have a “Jessie Lamb Pass-along” start up with that book! Maybe track who’s gotten it and how far around the world it ends up travelling.

    • Yes! That would be so fun, but I don’t want to pressure whoever wins xD But we’ll keep track of who has had it so far, just in case ;-)

  3. I usually hide out at home on Halloween and don’t dress up. However if I were to dress up, I would love to do this really cool costume I saw last year and saved a pic of it just in case I want to try it at some point. It is a woman with a “zipper face”, revealing bloody flesh beneath the zipper. Here’s a link:

    I think it’s super cool!

    • I hide out too, it’s a week night after all! I have studying to do, haha! But that is indeed a really cool costume, and wouldn’t take that much work probably :D. Thanks for commenting!

  4. bun in the oven for someone pregnant

  5. I would like to dress as King Henry VIII…now that’s scary!

  6. Jen Haile says:

I’m going to be a steampunk vampire!

    • Wow! That sounds like it must be home made right? I can’t imagine that they sell a lot of those in stores, haha!

  7. I’m not dressing up for Halloween this year, but my dog is wearing devil horns!

    • Dressing up pets is so freaking fun, also small children. I keep getting jealous of my friends that have kids at this time of year because baby costumes are the best! I want a baby that I can dress up as a dragon, though that’s probably a bad reason to have one ;-)

  8. sumo wrestler

  9. My boys are gnomes this year so I would pick that one!

  10. We were cleopatra & Marc Anthony for a Halloween Party last weekend. Thanks for the chance!

  11. My favorite costume was Carmen Miranda

  12. Kaci Verdun says:

I haven’t seen or know of what the ‘new’ costume is this year, but i’m going to say there will be a lot of zombies and vampires!

  13. My dad made our costumes one year. We were fairies – and he used Xmas lights for the wings, crowns, and wands. Folks thought we were Xmas trees!

  14. I so terribly wish that I had a good excuse to dress up this Halloween – that’s my favorite part ! Best costume I made so far was when I was a Diamond Dog (Moulin Rouge is one of my fave movies ever!)

    • I agree! I’m not doing anything for Halloween at all… I’m looking forward to the kid-having stage of life since then you get to do all those fun kid things again :D Oh well, I got some chocolate wine at the grocery store at least!

  15. Sadly, I’m not dressing up this year. :(
