Stacking the Shelves #17

Stacking the Shelves

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga! This week is basically the “What I got for Christmas” edition of Stacking the Shelves, with a little bit of a library trip thrown in for good measure ;-).

Gifts!

Cinder Steel's Edge The Cloud Roads Throne of Glass The Way of Kings Hounded City of Bones Rosemary and Rue The Mermaid's Madness  Red Hood's Revenge

As you might be able to tell, I got mostly books for the holidays and I couldn’t be happier! The last two books, The Mermaid’s Madness and Red Hood’s Revenge are also signed :D. I just can’t wait to get started reading them all, but I need to get a couple of review books done first ;-).

Borrowed

Seraphina Days of Blood and Starlight

In addition to gifts, I also got a couple of audiobooks from the library! My copy of Seraphina that Angelya got me got delayed in the mail, so I grabbed the audiobook from the library to tide me over ;-). I also requested Days of Blood and Starlight from the library ages ago and they finally purchased an audio copy!

What did you get this week, any holiday gifts of the bookish kind? Also let me know if you are a new follower and I’ll follow you back :D

Remember to subscribe for reviews of awesome books!

Nice haul! I still need to read Cinder myself! Like Kevin Hearne’s series too, although I only read the first book. Still, it was awesome! Happy Reading!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so be sure to stop by!

    Have a GREAT weekend!

    Old Follower :)

  2. Mostly getting books for the holidays is more than OK by me! I really loved Hounded and the whole Iron Druid series, so hope you do, too. They are pretty awesome urban fantasy, and so is City of Bones (maybe a little over-hyped, but still awesome). Jealous of Days of Blood and Starlight and Seraphina. Happy reading!

    • I completely agree! My boyfriend keeps trying to get me jewelry instead and I’m like, but think of how many books you could buy with that money! ;-) Thanks for stopping by :D

  3. Cinder and The Throne of Glass are books I really need to get a hold of :)) The rest, I haven’t really heard of yet. Happy reading! :)

I’ve heard good things about Cinder, The Way of the Kings and Seraphina. They all looks rather brilliant. I really enjoyed The City of Bones and I can’t wait to get reading the next few in the series, so I hope you enjoy that too.

I’ll be interested to hear your thoughts on Hounded because I want to read that too.

This looks like a fabulous fantasy haul! Happy reading! :)

    • Yey, and they are all so pretty on the shelf too :D I’ve had Hounded recommend to me over and over again, so I think you should definitely give it a try ;-) Thanks for stopping by!

  5. Fantastic holiday haul! Throne of Glass, Seraphina, and Days of Blood and Starlight are all books that I’m dying to read.I love The Mortal Instruments and hope you enjoy City of Bones. Happy reading!

  7. I’ve already read Cinder and Throne of glass, and I loved both.

    Happy Reading! :)

  8. I just started Blood & Starlight on audio. I love the narrator for this series, she does a good job. I’m hardly into at all and already more in love with Zuzana ~ I want a Zuz in my life!!

    • Yey an audio buddy :D I also absolutely love the narrator! I am especially impressed with her male voices, since a lot of female narrators can’t do male voices very well. Hehe, the emails that Zuzana writes are hilarious!

  9. Yay! Cinder! Love that book! :) Day of Blood is awesome..be prepared ;>

  10. Great haul! I have wanted to read Cinder for a while now, but never got around to it. I LOVED Throne of glass, can’t wait to see what you think of it :)

    • Thanks :D I know, there are so many great books this year that I just have to read but I need about 12 extra hours in the day!

  11. I’m getting ready to read City of Bones so I can have read it before I see the movie:) Great picks and happy reading!
    Cheers

    • Oo, I didn’t realize they were making a movie (because I live under a rock ;-) ) When it is coming out? I might now have to try to read that one sooner.. gah! So many books to read haha

      • It comes out late summer. They are also making a movie of The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan, Beautiful Creatures by Margaret Stohl and Kami Garcia, The Host by Stephanie Meyers, Significance by Shelly Crane, Shiver by Maggie Steifvater, Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo, House of Night by Kristen and P.C. Cast, Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead, Ethereal by Addison Moore, Matched by Allie Condie, The Raven Boys by Maggie Steifvater, Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor, Fallen by Lauren Kate, Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr, Uglies by Scott Westerfield, Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver, Incarceron by Catherine Fisher, Wings by Aprillynne Pike, Delirium by Lauren Oliver, Mortal Instruments City of Bone by Cassandra Clare and Paranormalcy by Kiersten White! Super large amount of books to movies in 2013 and 2014:)

        • *faints and starts twitching* so many movies to watch! Fortunately the movie theater by my apartment has $5 Tuesday movies :D Perfect excuse!!

  12. Yay for Christmas books! I’m reading Cinder right now and it’s so different and fun. It has just enough of the fairy tale to be familiar but SO MUCH MORE.

Also, YAY for the library and YAY for Seraphina! Enjoy all your reads.

    • Awesome! I love fresh stories and am just so excited to read Cinder!! Hehe, libraries are definitely the absolute best places! They just give you books for free, it’s amazing :D

  13. I’m nearly done with Cinder right now. It is really good, and I can’ imagine you not loving it. And City of Bones!!! I love TMI and can’t wait for the movie.

Enjoy your goodies! Happy reading :)

The Way of Kings is one of my favorites of this past decade. Wow, what a book. And it makes for good weightlifting work too. :)
