Stacking the Shelves #20

Stacking the Shelves

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga! I don’t know how this happened, I walked into the bookstore for a perfectly legitimate reason, and somehow walked out with three more books than I meant to get, how?? The temptation was just too great ;-)

Review

Crash Fire by Heather James

I got onto a audiobook review list this month and my first pick was Crash. I’ve seen a couple mixed reviews around the blogosphere, but I figure that I’ll give it a shot anyway since I can always use another audiobook. I just need to figure out how to get my iPhone to play through my car speakers now…. I also spotted Fire by Heather James available for review through Goodreads and decided to grab a copy to review :).

Bought

City of Ashes City of Glass Clockwork Angel Matched

So when I was going to the bookstore this week, I spotted the Mortal Instruments books for $7 off each! How can you resist that price?? I haven’t even read the first one (which I got for x-mas), but I know that they are loved by many, and figured that I’d never find such a bargain again ;-). Clockwork Angel was also included in this bargain sale, so of course it came along for the ride. Then when I was grocery shopping, I stumbled into the book section (note to self: grocery stores with book sections are dangerous) and spotted Matched for a wonderful price of $7. I had been debating getting Matched for a while, and figured this was the universe telling me to go for it ;-)

Gifts

Daughter of Smoke and Bone

Finally, it was one of my good friend’s birthdays this week and I of course needed to get him a book! I decided that I had to expose him and his reading girlfriend to the amazingness of Daughter of Smoke and Bone and apparently they both read it in the course of 5 days, that’s how much they loved it :D. Go me!

What did you get this week?? Any tips on what I should read next? :D Remember to let me know if you are a new follower and I’ll follow you back!

Oooh, I have Daughter of Smoke and Bone to read too. It looks really interesting! And the mortal Instruments. What a great week! Hope you enjoy! :)

  5. Hopefully you find Crash is awesome. I’m excited to buy it and read it.

    • It’s great so far, though the narrator of the audio isn’t quite as awesome as some others

      • Oooh you’re listening to it on audiobook. I’m not a fan of audiobooks because of the narrator. They have to be really awesome for me to listen to them speak for hours on end :P

        • Hehe, good point! The only audiobook that I’ve really loved so far is Daughter of Smoke and Bone since that narrator rocked my socks off!

  6. Yay for TMI. I really like that series, and getting them on sale is even better. I LOVE the covers. I hope you like the books. I am so excited for the movie this year.

Enjoy your goodies. Happy reading :)

  7. You got tons of great books this week! I loved Matched! I myself can’t wait to read the mortal instruments books and the infernal devices books:) Have fun reading all your finds:)
    Cheers

  8. Daughter of Smoke and Bone was such a great gift choice! I don’t think I can gush about that book enough.

Matched was likable but I really enjoy The Mortal Instruments series, though since The Infernal Devices series came out it became my favorite. xD

    Happy reading!

    • Hehe, me neither, it usually involves a lot of hopping and hand waving ;-) I’m super excited for Infernal Devices, since I really want to try a steampunk book this year….

  9. Fantastic books this week. Of course when you find bargains that good, you can’t walk past them. Love Cassandra Clare, her books are fantastic and can’t wait for Clockwork Princess. I have Daughter of Smoke and Bone on my TBR list and desperately want to read it, have review books that need priority though. Happy reading.
