Book Blogger Trick-or-Treat! {Halloween Manicures}

BTOTsign4

I’m really excited to join in the ladies of Great Imaginations for another year of trick-or-treating around the blogosphere! Last year I discussed my love of all things adorable for Halloween since I’m such a scaredy cat ;-). This year, I decided to feature my latest hobby for more of the non-scary side of Halloween with awesome Halloween-themed manicures! (Not book related at all today, sorry, not sorry!)

I follow a fair number of nail polish accounts on Instagram and am seriously impressed with the skill these people have for making gorgeous manicures. I sometimes attempt to attain their awesomeness, but often I just look through the pretty on breaks, ha.

This is a manicure combining gradients and stamping for witchy fun! I’ve been debating getting more stamping plates like this one so I can wear witches on my nails all year round, thoughts?

I like looking at manicures with raised accessories on them, but I don’t think I could ever deal with actually wearing them! It looks so cool though!

I love this idea the most I think since I love the glow of jack-o-lanterns and pumpkin carving is so much fun! I don’t think it’d be too hard to try too, maybe I will yet ;-).

And of course a great staple and possibly the easiest of the Halloween-themed manicures is the candy corn mani! (I couldn’t resist, hehe.)

Do you like themed nail art? Do you think I’m crazy for even attempting these sorts of things??

  1. I love the candy corn! I tired to do it this year, but I failed (since I was using the sponge technique), and that fist picture makes me want to pull out my stamping kit!

    • Ha, tape is the secret I think, since then you can paint nice straight lines and pull off any spillage! Yeah, I’m still trying to master stamping, I think I need a better stamper…

  2. Those last nails are adorable. I love the bright colors!

  3. I will never ever be able to paint my nails that well! It would also require buying expensive nail polish, and have artistic talent, something I do not have at all! I mean that second manicure is GORGEOUSLY SCARY :)

    I love this post Anya!

    • Yeah, I definitely have invested way too much into my nail polish collection >.> But I get a lot of indie polishes so they are high quality without being so expensive!

  4. I like the candy corn one the best because it’s the only one I could feasibly do without paying for someone else to do it xD But I really like the second one with the little charm things – I just imagine those would be annoying after a while.

    • HAHA, I hear ya! I suspect the charms would definitely be annoying, I’ve never tried them, but maybe for very special occasions?

  5. I’m just basically capable of painting my nails a solid color! However, I love seeing these! I can’t believe how good at this some people are. :)

  6. This is such a cool idea. I love it. Secondly I like to look at Nail Art too but I can’t even paint my nails one color without it looking messy. I’ve tried to do the Jamberry Nail things. Can’t do that either. I’m nail challenged but I love looking at cool ones on instagram.

  7. These are great! I’m always amazed at some of the nail art people can do. I think my favorite is the candy corn one, mostly because it looks simple enough I might be able to do it.

    • Some of these nail bloggers are seriously magic! Agreed, the candy corn is the one I could be sure to handle haha
