End of the Year 2013 Readathon

#ReadingCram Time!

I love this read-a-thon theme from Jenny and Dana! What do you do when an exam is coming up? Cram for it! Let’s do the same with the end of the year and all those books we haven’t gotten to yet :D. December 9th-22nd is going to be literally my entire winter break too, so it’s the PERFECT time for me to have an excuse to read more! I won’t have any stinky homework to worry about, I can completely justify taking a week off of work to read, I’ll be riding in a car to get to holiday events A LOT, so much reading time!

One of my big goals for this read-a-thon is going to actually participate in the blogging side of it. I can spend time reading any day, but that sense of a community of us reading lots is the fun part! There are the challenges I’m aiming to try out:

  • TBR Challenge (sounds like something I can handle >.>)
  • Teaser Challenge (I can definitely do that!)
  • Post a Review Challenge (Oo, oo, I have those!)
  • Wrap-up post (I like reminiscing ;-) )

What, people read books during these things too? Oh, okay ;-). I’m pretty much on schedule for the year, but I’m going to try to get ahead for 2014 this month too!

  1. Taste of Darkness – Finished 12/11/13
  2. Tin Star Finished 12/13/13
  3. Starters
  4. Horizon
  5. Enders
  6. Mind Games
  7. Archetype
  8. Death Sworn
  9. Uninvited

Yeah, so it’s pretty much just my reading schedule for the month, oh well ;-).

Update:changed up the list since I read some of them early ;)

12/11/13: I’m taking today off work since I finished finals yesterday, so it’s Reading Cram sprint time! I just finished Taste of Darkness and am going to do the weekly reading for our Hundred Thousand Kingdoms read-a-long next, then starting on Tin Star :D

  1. Great list! I’ve read Starters, Horizon, and Mind Games–all good reads! The rest are on my TBR too!

  2. A read-a-thon would be so much fun, I wish I had the time to do it. I have some days off between Christmas and New Year so if I am lucky I may be able to do it then. I’ve not heard of any of the books you’re reading, so it will be interesting to read your blogs on them :)

  3. I don’t know if I’ll use the “official” name, but it is that time of year for a reading cram, particularly since I’m behind on my GoodReads Challenge. Have you used that before? (I’m blanking out on whether you’re a GR user. Blame Nanowrimo. Brain dead.)

Looking forward to your review of Death Sworn. I’ve had my eye on that title for a while. I hope it’s as good as the summary sounded (if I’m thinking of the right Death Sworn, that is).

    Good luck on the reading-cram-a-thon!

    • Hehe, I’m a new BookLikes user ;-) They have the same thing though and I’m at 102 books for the year, woot!

I’ll definitely be reading Death Sworn asap and then having a giveaway for the physical ARC I have :D

  4. Jenn @ A Glo-Worm Reads says:

Wow, this is a good lengthy readathon that I could get something done during. Maybe it would be perfect to get all set up for January and baby :) I will have to consider it!

  5. Ooooh. I could use an end of the year readathon to try and get ahead for 2014. I might sign up; thanks for the heads up!

  6. DanaSquare says:

Thanks so much for signing up! NIL is high on my TBR as well!! Can’t wait to get my reading in over drive

    • Welcome :D I feel kind of bad since I told the publisher that I couldn’t review NIL since they didn’t have a mobi version, but now I can since I got a new tablet, so now I need to read it quickly and send feedback so that they don’t get mad, haha
