Sci-fi and Fantasy Friday (New $5 Giveaway Every Week!)

Sci-fi And Fantasy Fridays

Link-up Your Sci-fi and Fantasy Reviews and Giveaways!

I’m a huge sci-fi and fantasy fan, to the point that that is really all I read anymore. Therefore, I decided to start a weekly feature where I get all of you to gather the sf/f reviews and giveaways you’ve published and found so that we can all discover new books, blogs, and giveaways in our favorite genres!

Hello lovelies and welcome to another Sci-fi and Fantasy Friday! This week I have a special announcement and would like your feedback and suggestions:

Every week I’ll pick a random link and the email address that submitted that link will get $5 at TBD or Amazon!

Now, this of course means that there will need to be some more stringent rules and things to consider (which I’d love your feedback on):

  1. Links will only be eligible if they are no more than a week old as of the Friday they are entered for and the linky will close on Sunday each week. This means that it is better for you to save links and put them all in each Friday than put links in to last week’s post during the week. This also means that everyone is more likely to see all the links since they’ll mostly be up on Friday.
  2. The person submitting the link doesn’t have to be the person who wrote the post (and I in fact encourage you to submit other people’s links, spread the love!). If someone has already submitted your review for the week, you will need to go look for another post to add to qualify for the giveaway.
  3. Duplicate links aren’t allowed.
  4. An individual is welcome to enter as many unique and relevant links as they want. This increases your chances of winning and gives us all more awesome blog posts to discover.
  5. Links have to be sci-fi/fantasy book reviews and giveaways or general book or book blogging discussions. No reviews/giveaways for other genres will count.
  6. I’ll email the winner on Sunday and they will have 48 hours to respond. Hopefully this means that I’ll be able to announce the winner of the past week each Friday.
  7. I have a lot of ARCs and finished review copies laying around, so I’d be willing to give US winners the option of choosing a book from my pile that I will ship them instead of the giftcard (since the shipping in the US is equivalent). This could include unpublished ARCs when I have them available. Would anyone be interested in this option being a thing?

So, this week will be an experiment to see how this goes. Please let me know any suggestions or questions!

(Note for email/RSS subscribers: There are link-ups in this post that don’t show up for you, so click the post title to see them and find some great posts this week!)

  1. Oh I love this idea! I usually don’t see this until Saturday and someone already put up one of my reviews, which makes me feel really special. :) It alerted me when I tried to add the linkie.

    • Yey, I’m glad! Excellent to know that the linkie prevents duplicates on its own, that will be handy!

  2. I love seeing my posts on the list…when I didn’t put it there. Let’s me know someone is reading it. Very cool.

  4. These posts are one of my fav weekly posts. I find so many great posts through here. Of course, I only have one link this week since month end weeks are filled with housekeeping style posts.

  5. Wow! This looks like an awesome idea, and a great way to generate more links. And having the ARC’s/review copies as an option would certainly appeal to me. (Unfortunately, there are only so many physical books you can get for $5.)

    • Sounds good :D The giftcard will be just money in your account so you can use it towards a future purpose too ;-)
