Sci-fi and Fantasy Fridays {New Feature!}

Sci-fi And Fantasy Fridays

Link-up Your Sci-fi and Fantasy Reviews and Giveaways!

So you might have noticed that I really love sci-fi and fantasy, in fact my attempts to read other genres have kind of failed. I just keep thinking how much better a story would be if it had a dragon in it >.>. While I love all those awesome blogs that review all sorts of books, I am generally only interested in the sci-fi and fantasy reviews. The same goes for giveaways since I don’t want to win a book that I wouldn’t love as much as the other entrants. Therefore, I want to try out bringing together all the sci-fi and fantasy reviews and giveaways that are going on so that all us SF/F lovers can easily find reviews and giveaways relevant to us!

Since this is new, I’d love feedback! Do you want separate Linky’s for sci-fi and fantasy? Separate Linky’s for reviews and giveaways? What would work best for you all?

I’m planning to start off including the links that I’ve found throughout the week, but I’m hoping that you all will contribute any and all SF/F reviews and giveaways that you either posted or saw (just try to make sure not to double up!). I’m also okay with you posting links that are from a week or two ago, but let’s keep it within the month perhaps?

For this week, I’ll just make a Linky for reviews and giveaways separately, but combine SF/F. If you are only interested in one of these genres, let me know so that I can separate them in the future!

Let me know if you think this will be helpful for you or not, since if no one wants to use it then I don’t want to clutter the blogosphere ;-).

  1. This is/was a very cool idea and boost for writers and ways for us to find each others’ books and sites. Did you stop doing it? I came to post a new review and check out others’ but it says I can’t post….???

  2. Nevermind, it wasn’t even your tweet! LOL, I’m so out of it this weekend. But I’m glad Mulluane linked it up!

  3. I only just saw your tweet so came by to check it out. I think it’s a great idea for those who specifically want fantasy. I do love me some fantasy! Thank you for linking up my Masks review!

  7. I think this is a great idea! Nice one :)

  8. Great idea! I mostly review middle grade sci fi/fantasy, though, and I ‘m not sure that’s what your looking for…

If anyone is interested in reading younger books, every Sunday I have my own round-up of all the middle grade sdi fi/fantasy reviews and author interviews I can find for that week.

  9. Oooh, nice! I like that you have separate lists for reviews and giveaways. What about discussions? :D

    • I don’t want to step on the toes of Let’s Discuss, do you think there are enough sci-fi/fantasy centered discussions to fill it?

  10. Hi, Thanks for providing this! Great ideas! Unfortunately, I’m a little slow and didn’t understand how to put my BOOK’s name in the review link. Can you fix that for both of them? If not, oh, well. “This Changes Everything” is the title. Again, thanks a lot. Best to you!

  11. It is nice. Especially the giveaway portion. But hey, I tossed on of my reviews down too, it can’t hurt can it.

The fun part will be remembering to check it in a few days and search the list of reviews for new blogs.

  12. I think keeping sci-fi and fantasy combined and reviews and giveaways split the way you have it now is fine. Anything more would look too long. I mostly skip over lists of other reviews, but there’s a chance one could lead me to a new blog to follow (if I don’t scroll right past it). The giveaway listings are much more appealing and likely to be clicked. Free books! Who can say no to that? :)

    • Sounds good! I think I’ll encourage people to put genre abbreviations in their titles next week to try to help a bit. Agreed about giveaways! I’m excited to have a resource for finding all the ones I want to enter :D

  13. Great idea, Anya! =D I’ve added my last two giveaways to the list.

  14. Excellent idea! I’ll bear this in mind for future reviews – as Ria said, the extra signal boost can’t hurt! And I’ll keep an eye out for good reviews to share from elsewhere, too. :D

  15. Great idea Anya! I will def being using this as a resource as well as posting links. I need more sci-fi and fantasy books in my life :-) I totally agree…a dragon would enhance about every storyline and book.

    • Right?? I keep worrying that I’m missing out on sf/f books I should know about, like what happened with The Thief until Krys alerted me haha

  16. Fun idea! I added a couple of links, one in each space.

I completely understand your passion for science fiction and fantasy. While I do enjoy drifting away from it for a good mystery or essay collection once in awhile, it is those two genres that fuel my passion for reading.

  17. I for one am a big fan of linkys. So here here.

  18. This is a wonderful idea, and I appreciate the chance to help boost the signal for my reviews and [rather infrequent] giveaways a little more. And I get to discover blogs I might not have seen yet, which is even better! Thanks!
