Welcome to the Dragon Booth! Giveaway

Dragon Booth
Spring Blog CarnivalWhy hello Spring Blog Carnival go-er. *raspy wide eyed voice* I hope you are having simply a maaaarvelous time at this year’s carnival! Now I’m sure you’ve heard of the great mystical creature called The Dragon right? Of course, of course, yes, if you’re attracted to The Dragon Booth, that would be a silly question to ask. Now, I wonder just how thorough you’re studying has been, however. Have you journeyed across the worlds to find all varieties of this great creature that you could? Well, it’s always good to get some extra studying in on such a wonderful subject, isn’t it??

I tell you what, you present five examples of your favorite dragons and why those particular dragons are awesome to show me that you are truly serious about the study of this great creature, and I might just give you another book to aid your studying from the ones I have here.

Seraphina by Rachel Hartman Dragon Slippers by Jessica Day George Heart of the Dragon's Realm A Dance with Dragons A Natural History of Dragons
Ahem *coughcoughsplutter* Yes, so what I was saying is that my challenge is to list your five favorite books with dragons and why those particular dragons are so awesome. You can have that be a blog post that you link to or you can comment (just say you commented and what name you commented with) if you don’t have a blog you want to post at. I will pick one winner who will get to choose one of the dragon books above or another book obviously related to dragons to get from the Book Depository. This is open to anywhere the Book Depository ships. If the book you choose is significantly more than $20 I’ll ask you choose another, since we don’t want to drain my funds for other giveaways.

Note: I’m not responsible for books lost in the mail, sorry! Winners will have 48 hours to respond with a mailing address. I can make amendments to this rules if I forgot something.

Fairy Tale Giveaway Hop for Signed Jim C. Hines Book!

Fairy Tale Giveaway Hop

Fairy Tale Giveaway Hop!

US addresses only, sorry to my international readers! There will be more international giveaways in a couple months.

Hello lovely people and welcome to another giveaway hop :D. This month the theme is fairy tales and my particular favorite approach: retellings! For this hop I am giving away TWO books by the awesome Jim C. Hines. Specifically, the first two books of his Princess series which involves retellings of Snow White, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty (though don’t call her that!). First, I can assure you these books are awesome, check out my five star review of The Stepsister Scheme to find out why. If you still want more, here are the descriptions:

The Stepsister Scheme

The Stepsister Scheme Description: You know how all those old fairy tales take you through lots of scary adventures till you finally reach that inevitable line: “And they lived happily ever after…” Guess what? It’s not true. Life in never-never land isn’t all sweetness and light. Cinderella – whose real name is Danielle Whiteshore (nee Danielle de Glas) – does marry Prince Armand. And (if you can ignore the pigeon incident) their wedding is a dream-come-true.

But not long after the “happily ever after,” Danielle is attacked by her stepsister Charlotte, who suddenly has all sorts of magic to call upon. And though Talia – otherwise known as Sleeping Beauty – comes to the rescue (she’s a martial arts master, and all those fairy blessings make her almost unbeatable), Charlotte gets away.

That’s when Danielle discovers a number of disturbing facts: Armand has been kidnapped and taken to the realm of the Fairies; Danielle is pregnant with his child; and the Queen has her very own Secret Service that consists of Talia and Snow (White, of course). Snow is an expert at mirror magic and heavy-duty flirting.

Can three princesses track down Armand and extract both the prince and themselves from the clutches of some of fantasyland’s most nefarious villains?

The Mermaid's Madness by Jim C. Hines

The Mermaid’s Madness Description: There is an old story — you might have heard it — about a young mermaid, the daughter of a king, who saved the life of a human prince and fell in love.

So innocent was her love, so pure her devotion, that she would pay any price for the chance to be with her prince. She gave up her voice, her family, and the sea, and became human. But the prince had fallen in love with another woman.

The tales say the little mermaid sacrificed her own life so that her beloved prince could find happiness with his bride.

The tales lie.

Also if that isn’t exciting enough, The Mermaid’s Madness is also signed by Jim C. Hines :D, so awesome it’s hard to giveaway, haha!

So now I’m sure you want to know how to enter ;-), just fill out the Rafflecopter below and remember that this is US addresses only because I’m shipping them myself, sorry :(.

Tournament of Chance by S. G. Rogers Review and Giveaway

Tournament of Chance

An unjust king picks the wrong commoner to betray in Tournament of Chance by S. G. Rogers, a fast-paced fantasy story about a rebellion fueled by love and happening through time itself.

I love the tours that I Am a Reader, Not a Writer hosts, since they are a great opportunity to read and review wonderful books that I might not get a chance to otherwise. When the email came for Tournament of Chance, I wasn’t sure what I was getting into, but there was a dragon on the cover so my chances seemed good :D. Plus archery is pretty awesome!

Although Heather never believed the legends about the restoration of Ormaria, after three shape-shifting Ormarian wizards awaken from a long magical slumber, she joins their perilous quest to regain the throne. Heather battles vicious predators and angry trolls to free the wizards’ magic, but at a horrendous cost. She is unexpectedly torn from the arms of the man she loves and hurled back in time to fulfill a prophecy not yet written. The ensuing maelstrom tests Heather’s survival skills, wits, and endurance.
