Top Ten Anticipated Books for 2013

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and The Bookish. Check out the upcoming topics to start posting!

So this week’s topic is a little difficult for me since I’m just not very hip…. I don’t really know what is coming out, so beyond the couple of books that I’m waiting on the sequels for, I’m relying on Goodreads to remind me of releasing that I might like. However, I’m super excited to see everyone else’s lists to find out what else I can look forward to :D.

Frost Burned by Patricia Briggs Through the Ever Night by Veronica Rossi Requiem by Lauren Oliver Loki's Wolves by K. L. Armstrong Scarlet by Marissa Meyer Hunted by Kevin Hearne

  1. Frost Burned by Patricia Briggs – Want to talk about those books that you’ll never get as ARCs? Yeah, Frost Burned is one of those books for me…. A girl can dream ;-). And I’m happy to just support Mizz Briggs because I’m sure she’s awesome :D. I love Mercedes Thompson and am so pumped to read the next in the series!
  2. Through the Ever Night by Veronica Rossi – Mmm come to me Peri! I loved Under the Never Sky and am very excited for this sequel :D. I’m already on the wait list for several different ways to get it, so we’ll see how soon I can get a copy. Again a book that I have no chance for an ARC, haha.
  3. Requiem by Lauren Oliver – So I’m only on Delirium, but so far I’m really liking it, so I’ll probably read/listen to Pandemonium next, and then eagerly await Requiem :D.
  4. Loki’s Wolves by K. L. Armstrong – I’ve seen this one on a lot of blogs and haven’t gotten my hands on a review copy, so I have to hope the library gets a copy eventually ;-).
  5. Stormlight Archive #2 by Brandon Sanderson There isn’t cover art yet, and I haven’t had a chance to read Way of Kings yet, but I’m pumped for anything by Brandon Sanderson :D.
  6. Magic Rises by Ilona Andrews – Again no cover art yet, but there is a title this time :D. I love the Kate Daniels series, and therefore am very excited to read the next Kate book. This one seems slightly more in reach, but I’ll still probably just buy a copy ;-).
  7. Scarlet by Marissa Meyer – I haven’t had a chance to read Cinder yet, but I hear it is fantabulous, and therefore I’m excited to read it and its sequel :D.
  8. Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson – Omg omg omg!!! Another new book by Brandon Sanderson, I think I might faint :D. I gotta go see if it’s on any of the sites I can request it from right NAO!!! And apparently it’s YA too, so all of you should go check it out now :D.
  9. Dracomachia by Rachel Hartman – Well, that’s a bit of an odd title, and I’m still working on getting a copy of Seraphina, but I’m pretty sure I’m going to love it, and therefore I’m super pumped for the sequel :D.
  10. Hunted by Kevin Hearne – This is the sixth book in the Iron Druid Chronicles, which I actually have yet to start, but I’m fairly convinced I will love, so I’m therefore excited to see the series continuing ;-).
Wow, there are more books that I’m eager to see next year than I thought! And I didn’t even include all of the maybes and Patrick Rothfuss’ third book which says 2013 on Goodreads but then has an angry note that says “NOT 2013”, haha, what a goof. Anyway, link up your list :D And let me know if you are a new follower and I’ll follow you back!

  1. I’m excited for Drachomachia too. I can’t believe I forgot to include that one on my list. I LOVED Seraphina! <3

    • Haha, I always have that problem! This week though I’ll have to update my wishlist since I’m directing family members here for gift buying xD

  2. DRACHOMACHIA!!! Can’t believe I forgot to add that one. Seraphina was ten different kinds of amazing.

    My TTT:

    • I had the exact same feeling with Codex Born by Jim C. Hines, we need to have redos xD Thanks for stopping by! Off to check out your post :D

  3. Seraphina is SO GOOD. I only got a chance to read it recently, but I fell in love with the world + characters right away!

    • I still can’t believe I haven’t read it yet! It’s definitely going to be top on the x-mas list :D It has dragons for pete’s sake :D

  4. West Virginia Red (@wvredreads) says:

A lot of similar picks and if they were not on my top ten they are on to TBR list. Love finding people with the same taste. :)

    • Yey! Me too :D That’s one of the best things about book blogging is finding people with the same taste and then reading all the books that you like that I haven’t read yet :D

  5. Damn, that’s a good list. Sanderson, Hearne, Briggs. A girl can’t ask for more.

The Way of Kings is amazing, truly. My man read it 3 times in 11 months. I have only done so once, but will probably give it another read before the 2nd comes out.

    • Wow, that’s impressive! And that is a freaking huge book too! That’s what keeps me from grabbing it at the library every time, I’m worried that I won’t have time to finish it… but that’s what presents are for :D No due dates then :)

  6. I’m looking forward to Scarlet too, even though I haven’t read Cinder yet. But, I’m sure I’ll love them, lol.

I’ll have to check out the other books on your list because I haven’t heard of a lot of them.

  7. Great list! I love the look of Loki’s Wolves!

  8. *adds most of those to her want to read list* Great list!

    My Top Ten

  9. Livvy @Nerdy Book Reviews says:

Loki’s Wolves looks rather interesting actually. Norse myth related? Count me in. And the cover looks awesome. Thanks for spotlighting because I’ve added it to my wishlist now.

Ohhh, a few other authors I recognise, but haven’t read. Great list! :)

  10. I’m really looking forward to Scarlet too even though I haven’t even cracked open my copy of Cinder yet…or Delirium for that matter. The first Mercedes Thompson book has been on my reading list for ever, hoping to get to read it soon! And YAY to anything by Brandon Sanderson :) Great list Anya

    • Omg you must read Mercedes Thompson!! She’s urban fantasy sure, but so much better than all the “meh” stuff that is out there these days :D

  11. Hannah @ Once Upon A Time says:

Err.. *flail* I think I HAVE the anticipated books for review. >.> Lessee.. The First Last Kiss by Ali Harris and Lucy Robinson’s new one for chick lit, Doors of Stone whenever the heck that’s ready to roll, the 7th Soul Screamers book, the new Morganville in… May?, Cherie Priest’s Clockwork Century getting UK releases, um.. Belle Whittington’s Firefly looks like it might be a 2013 release now.. um.. /end.

Ooh Loki’s Wolves, is that Kelley Armstrong and Marissea Meyer doing kiddy lit? :o win.

  12. Seraphina was awesome; Drachomachia (tentative title) made my list, too! I have a library copy of Cinder on my shelves waiting for me to finish some ARCs to get to it, so I’ll probably have to add Scarlet to my TBR list, too.

    • Drachomachia is a tentative title huh? I vote to change it personally… it seems a little strange and would probably turn off people who don’t know what it is about…

  13. Yes, I love the Iron Druid series, but have yet to read the fifth book Trapped. Still can’t wait for Hunted, and for it to get a final cover!! Loki’s Wolves and Scarlet are two others I don’t know much about, but they sound great.

    • I am super excited to see the covers for a lot of the titles that are still coming out! Oh my goodness… I just realized I completely forgot Codex Born by Jim C. Hines, doh!
