Thanks to the gals of The Broke and The Bookish for hosting this meme every week!
Oo, this topic is going to be a fun one. I’m including books that may at some point in the far future have sequels but don’t yet, since sometimes authors are tricksy like that ;-). Also there is going to be a lot of Sanderson books for good reason!
I need more answers!
I’m a sucker for awesome magic and otherwordly critters, but I need some explanations for how the system works. I’m all for suspension of disbelief that things work a certain way in a world, but I am just too curious not to want the characters to investigate somewhat. These books have loose ends at the end that left me begging for a second book so that we could get explanations. I’m fairly certain a second book will come into being for at least a couple (Weight of Souls has an ending that screams sequel at some point), but Goodreads hasn’t put the little series parentheses next to them yet D: .
Let the good times roll!
See, told you there would be a lot of Sanderson >.>. Some stand-alones are just so much fun to read that I don’t want them to end D: . Poison is an especially painful one given Bridget Zinn’s untimely death. I wish there would be a sequel to Poison for a number of reasons :(. The two Sanderson books are a novella and a stand alone novel, but all of his books have the potential for a sequel and even the suggestion on his website that there will be a sequel at some far and unknown date in the future; why must he torture me??? Elantris left such warm and fuzzy feelings in my brain, I will be rereading it at some point so that I can pretend there is a sequel >.>.
Link me up your sad stand-alones list! Do you tend to want answers or just want more awesomeness?
