Top Ten Books I Wouldn’t Mind Santa Bringing Me

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and The Bookish. Check out the upcoming topics to start posting!

This week’s topic is perfect because my mom has been bugging me for what books I want as presents this year, and I have just been too busy to come up with my list yet! Fortunately, Goodreads “Want To Read” button has made things really easy to keep track of :D.

Seraphina by Rachel Hartman Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas Cinder by Marissa Meyer The Cloud Roads by Martha Wells The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson Steel's Edge by Ilona Andrews Hounded by Kevin Hearne Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes Redheart by Jackie Gamber A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness

  1. Seraphina by Rachel Hartman – Dragons and everyone loves it? Sign up me :D
  2. Throne of Glass  by Sarah Maas – Again, so many positive reviews! And kickass heroine :D
  3. Cinder by Marissa Meyer – Say it with me, so many people love this! This one is cyborgs and dystopia crazyness, but still sounds awesome :D.
  4. The Cloud Roads  by Martha Wells – More shape-shifters and awesome writing!
  5. The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson – I haven’t had a chance to read this one yet, so I would reaaaaaaally like it ;-).
  6. Steel’s Edge by Ilona Andrews – I got the first three books for my mom’s birthday earlier this year, but Steel’s Edge wasn’t out yet, so it would be a great gift for one of us (we share well), haha.
  7. Hounded by Kevin Hearne – I’ve been hearing for a while that I should read the Iron Druid Chronicles ;-) First step!
  8. Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes – Looks awesome.
  9. Redheart by Jackie Gamber – More dragons :D.
  10. A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness – I had this from the library once and then had to return it…. Oops!
These aren’t honestly in any real order because I can’t decide :D. Fortunately, my birthday is in February, so anything that I don’t get in December can just go on the next wishlist, haha.
What are you wishing for??

  1. Santa most definitely needs to bring you The Way of Kings, even if he needs to grab a few extra reindeer to help cart the things to your house. I think even the paperback weighs two tons. It is quite the book. I hosted a group read of it last year and I’m not sure I’ve ever had that much fun reading a book with other people. I’m waiting impatiently for the next book in the series.

  2. Throne of Glass was fantastic! :) Cinder was fun and Seraphina looks great! Awesome list!

    My TTT:

  3. I wouldn’t mind Santa bringing me any of these– we have eerily similar wish lists! I’m also wishing for Cinder, Throne of Glass, Seraphina, and the Way of Kings. Definitely recommend Hounded, though not so much A Discovery of Witches (I know tons of people do like it, but I couldn’t personally get into it). Hope you get to check off all these books from your wishlist. :)

    • Yey! Yeah, Discovery of Witches I’m a little on the fence about, hence why it’s at the end, haha, but I want to give it a try at least ;-)

  4. Livvy @Nerdy Book Reviews says:

Definitely a fabulous list. I want the Iron Druid Chronicles and Falling Kingdoms too along with Cinder and The Way of the Kings — I know it’s a dreadfully long book, but I’ve had good recommendations. And I have Seraphina which looks very good. Great list! :)

  5. Loving this list Anya! Throne of Glass & A Discovery of Witches made my TTT as well this week! I’m definitely wishing for Fallen Kingdoms too (I featured it as a WoW pick a few weeks ago) and my list would have had Seraphina if I hadn’t managed to get it on Netgalley a while ago. Cinder, The Way of Kings & Redheart are great picks too :D Thanks for sharing, and I hope you get all of these for Xmas!

    • Yey! I’m so excited for new books, aren’t you?? :D Off to check out the rest of your list and to see if I forgot anything ;-)

  6. Seraphina was SO GOOD! I hope you do get a copy for Christmas.

Falling Kingdoms made my list too! :]

    My TTT

  7. The Iron Druid Chronicles are definitely worth it. If you enjoy audio, Luke Daniels does a fantastic job, especially with irish wolfhound Oberon’s voice.

  8. Cinder (a popular pick today) and Seraphina also made my list! All those look great, though. :D My TTTs are at LKHill and Musings on Fantasia. Happy Tuesday! :D

    • I bet they are, they’ve been so popular this year, haha! Thanks for stopping by :D Off to check out yours and see if I missed anything, haha!

  9. Loving this list because I pretty much want to read all of the books you mentioned – I have read Cinder – excellent – and A Discovery of Witches – a little overly verbose, but still liked it.

    • Discovery of Witches does look a little long, but I’ve heard good things and I don’t read enough witchy stories :D
