Top Ten Books On My Winter TBR {2013}

Top Ten Tuesday

Thanks to the gals of The Broke and The Bookish for hosting this meme every week!

I have this reading schedule that I try to follow pretty closely, so this is basically just going to be what is on that, but these are the ones I’m most excited to read ;-).

All of the ARCS

Taste of Darkness Lady Thief  Archetype Uninvited  A Creature of Moonlight

These are all eARCs that I’m so excited to read and are pulling me in seven different directions. I don’t want to read any of them because I want to read all of them ya know? But, I’m planning on working my way through them this winter ;-).

Playing Catch-up

Fragile Brilliance Copperhead The Way of Kings

Then there are a couple of books that are already out but I reeeeaaaaaally need to read! Fragile Brilliance and Coppherhead are review books I got after pub date, so I’m fitting them in asap. Way of Kings I’m doing a read-a-long for in January :D.

What are you planning to read this winter??

  3. I’m just starting an audiobook of The Way of Kings and I’m very excited! It will be my first Brandon Sanderson and my boyfriend loved it so I’m hopeful I will too. Of course, it’s 45 hours long so I won’t be finished for about a month, but so it goes. I’ll be interested to hear what you think of Copperhead. I read and enjoyed Ironskin but I’m just terrible at actually getting to sequels.

    • Omg yey! You should definitely check out The Emperor’s Soul next, since that’s his recent novella and it is freaking amazing!

      I quite loved Copperhead :D

  4. Just read the blurb to Fragile Brilliance…I. NEED. IT! It sounds so good!

    I’m going to be starting Death Sworn soonish, you’ll have to keep me updated on your thoughts. :)

    • YES YOU DO! Tammy Blackwell is my favorite indie author EVER and she writes so well! She also had another trilogy the first of which is Destiny Binds which I HIGHLY recommend!

  5. I’m reading Uninvited right now. It’s a nice read so far. Very quick. :)

  6. Oh I am so jealous you have a copy of Death Sworn! I’ll be looking forward to reading your thoughts on it. :) Lady Thief also sounds very good, although I need to read Scarlet first. Hope you get to all these reads within the next few months!

  7. Amazing list. Taste of Darkness is such a great book, I absolutely love that series and Maria V Snyder as an author. Lady Thief looks great but I still need to read Scarlet. Love the unique take on Robin Hood though so will definitely get this soon! Love the design on your blog also :)

  10. A Creature of the Moonlight looks interesting — well, the cover is pretty at least! I really want to read The Way of Kings, too, but it probably won’t be a winter read for me. Boo!

  14. I want to read the Maria Snyder books, too, and also re-read SCARLET and then read LADY THIEF. I also have NIL and DEATH SWORN to read! Almost made DEATH SWORN one of my top 10! I featured A CREATURE OF MOONLIGHT a couple of weeks ago, so I didn’t want to list it again, but YES, me too!

  15. Oh, I’m so with you on so many of these!! I don’t think I could keep my list down to 10, though!! I’m going to check a few of these out, too, b/c I haven’t heard of them yet and, well, you always need MORE to read!!! bwahahahaha!!!

    Hope you’re having an awesome holiday!!!

  16. Still excited for Death Sworn, and Uninvited looks pretty cool, too. Good luck keeping to your reading schedule once the Christmas season is in full swing!

    • Haha, so true! I’ll have a lot of time riding in cars though, so I get lots of reading done then ;-)

      • Lucky! I get motion sickness in just about anything that moves (and am too cheap to buy many audiobooks). Then again, my library has a pretty decent audiobook on cd collection, which I keep forgetting about. ^^;

        • Oh no, I’m so sorry! It’s true, I feel so fortunate that I can read read read when riding. I read over half a book this weekend during holiday shopping since we had to drive around so much! I think it’s because I read when I was a kid on road trips so I just was used to it?

          • My cousin’s family did a ton of traveling in an RV when she was little, and she kind of got used to it, too. Despite numerous road trips, flights and cruises, I’m still just as bad as ever. No reading, texting, staring out the window too long, or up-and-down hills for me … which means I tend to get automatic driver or shotgun on long trips. At least it’s not all bad. ;)

          • Hehe, so when you’re driving or riding shotgun you’re okay?

          • Not exactly. More like I’m significantly less likely to experience those symptoms in unbearable doses. So, still no reading. ^^;; (Driving is always better, though.)

    I don’t have an ARC for taste of Darkness but I love that series so I will definitely read it as soon as it’s published. :) I’ve got ARCs for Uninvited, Death sworn & Creature of midnight so yay hopefully we will read them in time. :)
    As for playing catch-up I also need to read Copperhead & The Way of things. o:)
    Great list I hope you enjoy them all!
