Top Ten Most Memorable Secondary Characters

Top Ten Tuesday

Thanks to the gals of The Broke and The Bookish for hosting this meme every week!

Whenever something with “memorable” comes up, it translates to “Top Ten X That I can Remember and therefore were memorable…” ;-).

Some Quiet Place   Fear: Fear is an emotion incarnate and is a surprisingly awesome guy. If you’ve read Some Other Place, you know what I mean ;-).

Siege and Storm Sturmhond: Hilarious and awesome, what can I say?

Magic Rises by Ilona Andrews Saiman: Can change into any human looking body and has a very interesting past >.>. You never know what he’s going to say!

Codex Born by Jim C. Hines Lena: Codex Born made me really love Lena. She is a dryad from a pretty horrible book, but she figures out how to be her own person and she has such a beautiful mind.

Mirage by Jenn Reese Tal: Never let them get you down!

Through the Ever Night Roar: I haven’t read the short story yet, but Through the Ever Night shows the awesome friendship that Aria and Roar have and I appreciate a friendship that is just that, no love triangle potential.

The Rithmatist by Brandon Sanderson ARC Melody: Melody was a character you either loved or hated and I loved her. She was just as socially awkward as I am often ;-).

scarlet by marissa meyer Iko: Do I really have to explain? What is that quote when she becomes the ship’s AI? <3

mockingjay by Suzanne Collins Prim: *cries* That is all.

Days of Blood and Starlight Zuzana: Those emails! Gah, I need to reread this one too!

  1. Sturmhond <– Yes yes yes!! I ended up feeling very strongly for this character!!

  2. Ahhh I have so much love for Zuzana, Prim and Iko ♥ And yes I agree, Fear is a pretty unique and intriguing character ;) I still desperately need to read The Rithmatist, UtNS and the Grisha books but seeing them mentioned here just motivated me even more :D Awesome picks ^^

    • Omg you must read them!! You have so much excellent reading to do :D I’m so excited for the sequels though too, they are going to rock!

  3. Jenn @ A Glo-Worm Reads says:

Iko is so awesome!! I love her! I also love Zuzana and Prim. You have a great list here! I can’t say I’ve read any of the other books yet though, so I will have to reserve judgement on them ;)

  4. Iko is on so many of these lists and well-deservedly. I loved Iko!

  5. I’ve only read Mockingjay and Scarlet, but completely agree with you on Iko and Prim. I’m intrigued by your description of Fear and will be checking out Some Quiet Place soon. Thanks for sharing!

  6. Jessica@a GREAT read says:

OOh nice picks! Been seeing a few of these elsewhere as well!

    Here’s my Tuesday Post

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower :)

  7. I love Fear! He’s so fascinating! Sutton got the mixture of beauty, danger, and allure perfectly :)
I picked a different DoBaS character but Zuzana is definitely fantastic as well!
I haven’t read Siege and Storm yet (I’m waiting for the edition that matches my copy of Shadow and Bone) but I’ve seen Sturmhond on quite many lists today so I’m looking forward to it :)

    My TTT

    • Which Shadow and Bone copy do you have? I actually still have to buy both of them since I just borrowed them to read, haha. I’m thinking they will make a great birthday wishlist >.>

  8. Um, YES to Iko and Zuzana, of course! I also loved Roar. You should definitely pick up his novella when you can. It made me adore him and Liv even more! And yes to Melody from The Rithmatist. She was so funny. My husband didn’t like her much, but that’s another story altogether. Ooh, great topic for a discussion post!

    • Yup, I’m pretty bad with novellas since I tend to only read non-review books in physical form, but one of these days I’ll go on a novella spree ;-)

  9. IKOOO! Haha she made it onto my list this week too, and everyone else’s list. I was surprised to see how often she was on bloggers’ TTTs week, but now that I think about it, it totally makes sense :) I just started Daughter of Smoke & Bone, so I’m not familiar enough with Zuzana’s character yet to LOVE her, but I’m excited to get to that point :) Great list!

  10. Ha, I so agree with you!

    And yes, Prim *cue sobbing*

  11. I love Iko! One of the best characters ever

  12. Iko and Prim are great choices, although thinking of Prim makes me sad.

    Here’s my TTT.

  13. Prim and Zuzana are both on my list! I can not believe I forgot Strumhond! I absolutely loved that guy, he is totally a scene stealer =P

    Emily @ Falling For YA

  14. Great list! Gotta love Prim and Tal and Roar. And I totally forgot about Zuzana, but yeah, she’s hysterical! :D

  15. Lianne @ says:

Great list! I haven’t read any of these titles but I’ve been meaning to read Seige and Storm and The Rithmatist, they sound fantastic :)

    My TTT

    • So you’ve read Shadow and Bone right?? Siege and Storm is quite excellent, I hope you have time for it soon :D

      • Lianne @ says:

I haven’t yet, actually *blushes* (I think the title slipped from my mind when I did my first comment, lol) But I’ve heard wonderful things about the series so far, really need to make time for it

  16. I have Roar on my list too, I love relationship between him and Aria. I forgot about Iko, I loved her! I see now I really need to read Rithmatist, I like to read about socially awkward characters so I know I’m not alone :))

    My Top Ten Tuesday.

    • Haha, I definitely loved reading Rithmatist for the social awkwardness, I’m pretty sure I was just like that when I was younger >.>

  17. I love your list. I haven’t read a lot of these, but any character named Fear is worth taking a look at… I’ll have to check that book out. =)
