Updates from the Lair

Updates from the Lair is my weekly wrap-up post that includes what happened in my real life, what I’ve been reading, my posts from the week, and what I’m thinking about reading next week (and would love your advice on!).

Yey, it’s April! Though we just got a ton of snow, like literally six inches in a day…. There go the bulbs that had been poking up :(. I’ve had a pretty normal week, prepping for the summer class and getting another draft of my dissertation proposal together. I haven’t had a lot of reading time, but enjoying what I’ve had :). I have a new video on the booktube channel too, linked at the bottom!

My Week

Half LostI started the audiobook of Half Lost this week and am loving it. This trilogy is pretty darn dark, but not more than I can handle for some reason haha. Things are off to a great start and my love of Gabriel is never ending.

AdamI also have started Adam and am almost done! I’m really glad Bushill reached out to me about this book since it’s one of those hard-to-find high-quality indie books. It’s a sci-fi thriller inspired by Frankenstein and is pretty much all action. I’m pretty sure Bushill is looking for bloggers willing to review Adam, so look him up if you are looking for something to review!

And in case you missed it, these were my posts this week:

Next Week’s Reading

(books up next on the reading list, thoughts?)

The Paper Menagerie and Other Stories Dawn of the Flame Sea The Jewel and her Lapidary

I’m heading back to Minnesota at the end of this week so that means all the reading! I need to finally actually make progress on Paper Menagerie since I keep saying I’ll make progress and then can’t find time :(. I’m thinking of giving up on trying to read all the April releases I’m running behind on, but I do want to try Dawn of the Flame Sea since it looks like a good car read. I absolutely need to read The Jewel and Her Lapidary because I love Wilde and look at that cover!!!!! What do you think I should read first?

Happy Reading!

  1. I never continued with the Half Bad series though I enjoyed the first book. Would you recommend it then? I am curious to see where the story went. I hope you enjoy all your upcoming reads!

    • Definitely, I absolutely loved the trilogy. Definitely gets even darker, but I think if you liked the tone of the first book, you’re good to go

  2. My vote is The Jewel and Her Lapidary first :) have a wonderful week.
