Updates from the Lair is my weekly wrap-up post that includes what happened in my real life, what I’ve been reading, my posts from the week, and what I’m thinking about reading next week (and would love your advice on!).
Did I completely forget to write this post yesterday? Yes, yes I did. Oh well! First week of teaching is done and went really well :D. What was I doing last night instead of prepping this post? This:
My Week
I’m listening to the audiobook of The Voodoo Killings and quite enjoying it! Normally I don’t like zombie stories, but these zombies aren’t scary most of the time. I also really love urban fantasy were it is known to the public that the supernatural exists :D. The narrator is pretty good, though sometimes you can hear her swallow, which is weird….
I decided to finally start The Vanishing Throne and I’m really glad I did. I’m addicted again and really loving the premise of this sequel.
And finally, I also am reading The Voyage to Magical North and it is adorable! It has pirates and magic and lots of tongue-in-cheek humor. It’s perfect for reading when my brain is tired after teaching ;-).
And in case you missed it, these were my posts this week:
- Between Two Thorns {Read Along}
- Roses and Rot by Kat Howard ARC {4 Stars} ★★★★
- Waiting on… Three Dark Crowns
- Everland by Wendy Spinale {Just Hatched} ★★
- Sci-fi and Fantasy Friday {ARCs and $5 Giftcards Weekly!}
- Sophie Quire and the Last Storyguard by Jonathan Auxier {Just Hatched} ★★★★½
Next Week’s Reading
(books up next on the reading list, thoughts?)
I’m probably going to just keep reading everything that I’m currently reading, since I’m not all that close to finishing any of them ;-). But if a miracle occurs and I do finish one, these are up next:
Happy Reading!

I know I liked it on IG, but I love your dragon ♥ I really want to read The Voodoo Killings too – even though I usually don’t do Zombie books – I love Charish’s take on paranormal stuff so I’m in! Happy reading Anya! xx
