Updates from the Lair 5/25/13

Updates from the Lair

How May has been flying by! I decided to change the update feature to something more dragon-y themed, so it’s now Updates from the Lair :D. Lair meaning the dragon’s lair ;-). Anyway, the past couple of weeks have been fun and busy and I have really no excuse for not posting an update except for last week when I was traveling all over Minnesota!

My Week

This week I joined in with Bout of Books (or last week mostly I guess, but it missed the last update) and so I read a loooooot of books, yey!

And All the Stars Among the Nameless Stars Through the Door Siege and Storm Legion Gameboard of the Gods
These are the books I finished this past week for Bout of Books. Four of them were review books and then I listened to Legion because it was free on Audible from Brandon Sanderson and Among the Nameless Stars was on the Kindle when I was browsing :D. I really liked all of them which was great!

Clockwork Princess

I’ve started listening to Clockwork Princess on audio and I love the narrator! He’s giving Will a great Welsh accent. I haven’t actually gotten to listen to much since I wasn’t driving at all during last week (road trip means the boyfriend drives, yey!).

Outcast by Adrienne Kress

I also started Outcast by Adrienne Kress and am having a really good time with it. It’s still on Netgalley last I checked ;-). It is about angels, but so far it hasn’t hit my “oh gawd not more angels” bone. Outcast is mostly about a guy from the 50’s showing up in our time and adjusting to high school. I’ll let you know how it goes!

And in case you missed it, these were my posts this week:

I gave 2 stars to The Resurrectionist, it was pretty creepy!

I participated in Bout of Books and here’s the wrap-up

The Top Ten Tuesday for this week was Top Ten Book Covers of Books I’ve Read

I asked Do you have an addiction to starting books?

I’m holding a giveaway for SIGNED copies of The Selection (an ARC!) and The Elite (a hardcover :D). I also posted some fun facts from the Harper Collins Dark Days author tour!

I posted a guest post of Shadow and Bone for Ria at Bibliotropic and have reposted it

  1. Ooh, so many things to get to, I hope I don’t forget anything hehe Ok, first of all, LOVE the new dragon themed feature name ♥ Second, congrats on reading SO many books, DYING to read the Grisha series & Gameboard of the Gods! Glad to hear you’re enjoyed Clockwork Princess and that the audio version is good!! I’m curious about Outcast too so I might just have to request it if it’s still there XD Oh and finally, thanks for the shout-out doll!! There, I think I did it LOL

    • Yey, thanks :D There was lots of think-tanking at Steak and Shake to come up with the new feature names, hehe. I always worry about forgetting everything I want to write and have to go up and down from the post to the comment

  2. Siege and Storm!!

  3. Wow, you read some awesome books this week – I’m jealous! I’m also curious about Outcast (even though it involves angels), so I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying it so far! Also, thanks for linking to my Reboot review!

    • I was pretty stoked with this week’s reading, I must admit, haha. I didn’t end up enjoying Outcast as much as I hoped, but oh well! You’re welcome :D

  4. Hannah @ Once Upon A Time says:

I actually haven’t read a single angel book yet.. no! I tell a lie! I read one which felt kinda Supernatural/Neil Gaimany. Ignoring that one, Outcast might be my first one if I don’t start on Angelfall first.

    • Hehe, I haven’t read that many either unless you count Daughter of Smoke and Bone (I don’t really…). But I can understand other people’s aversion to the paranormal romance angel books, they would probably get boring after a while

  5. Thanks for linking to my post Anya! Looks like you got a lot of reading done during the readathon (: Hope you have a great week!
