Updates from the Lair 6/22/13

Updates from the Lair
More traveling this week! June is just a crazy month for me with conferences, but it’s good for reading on planes ;-). I’m actually writing this in an airport right now, so forgive me if I get a bit distracted, haha.

My Week

Playing Tyler I finished Playing Tyler this week, which brings me very close to being all caught up on my NetGalley requests :D. It wasn’t the sci-fi book I was expecting (don’t really know how I got that impression, oh well), but it was fun and exciting when I realized that it was a contemporary thriller! My review will be coming in July :D.

IClockwork Princess also finished my audiobook Clockwork Princess! I’m very proud to have finished a trilogy finally, it seems I’m always leaving series half finished, haha. The narrator was much better for this final installment, though the love triangle continued to drive me nutty. That ending was epic though, and I loved the epilogue *tears up*.

Independent StudyI got approved for Independent Study through Edelweiss :D. I love The Testing, so I’m very excited to be reading the sequel so soon. I’m reading it on Adobe Digital Editions which is really freaking annoying, but I’m still getting pulled in to this dangerous university, dun dun dunnnn. But seriously, why can’t eARCs always be available for Kindle??

The Demon KingI also of course needed to start the next audiobook. I just joined Audible (finally right?), and started with The Demon King because I have heard such great things about this series. I’m not in love with the narration, but the story is still starting off great.

And in case you missed it, these were my posts this week:

Through the Door by Jodi McIsaac got 4 stars from me, Celtic myths :D

The Top Ten Tuesday this week was Top Summer TBR Books, I’m so glad to have a list to follow now ;-)

I loved Tammy Blackwell’s new novella All We See & Seem, check it out!

I’m asking if you are Addicted to Buying Books like me :D

I gave 4 stars to And All the Stars, I’m so glad I finally read this one!

  1. Thanks for linking Pabkins’ review of Ink! I’m also really stoked that you’ve got Starters on your list to read soon! I recently read it myself and really enjoyed it! I can’t wait to dig into Enders which was recently released! I hope you love Starters as much as I did :D

  2. OMG your reading (listening to) The Demon King! Perfect example of a book I own but haven’t read yet right there – can’t wait to read your thoughts on it!! Glad the conclusion of the TMI trilogy was satisfying for you, it actually gave me hope to finally start the series myself.

    • Yes! I’ve heard such awesome things about it, so it seemed a good start to my Audible addiction, haha!

Independent Study?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!!?!? I feel like I only just read The Testing, oh wait, I did ;)

On a side note, I’m currently reading Antigoddess on Adobe Digital Editions, sucks. But I got a new computer and my Kobo isn’t set up for it yet to get it on there.

    • I know, I was so excited to see it was already available for review!

I’m so sad that ADE can’t work with Kindle, it’s totally sucky

  4. Sounds like you had a great week, trying to catch up with blogs today and I will check out your posts!

  5. I love that you link other reviews. That is really very sweet!
