Updates from the Lair

Oof, more traveling this week, hence why I missed last week D: I’m into the final stretch of my qualifying exam writing, dun dun dunnnn…. I’m trying not to freak out too much ;-).

My Week

The Crown of Embers by Rae Carson

I finished Crown of Embers on the way back from Chicago, so my review for that will be showing up next week! I hate when I’m traveling and can’t get into a book because of distractions, so I’m a little worried about my opinion of this one. I’m pretty sure I would have enjoyed it more if there wasn’t so much else going on, but what can you do?

The Bitter Kingdom

That means that I got to start Bitter Kingdom :D. My enjoyment of this one emphasizes the likely fact that Crown of Embers didn’t get a fair shake D: However, I’m definitely getting in to Bitter Kingdom, so hopefully I’ll be able to finish it before it’s published!

Kinslayer

Finally, I also started Kinslayer this week since it’s a bit hefty and I want to have plenty of time to read it before it is published. I’m starting classes soon, so I have to keep that in mind too, boo classes ;-).

And in case you missed it, these were my posts this week:

My mom stopped by to review Shadow of Night!

Magic Rises was freaking amazing with 5 stars this week, so much love!

I did Top Ten Thursday this week since I missed Tuesday: Top Ten Things that Make Blogging Easier

This week I fan-girled all over when I met Brandon Sanderson and Patrick Rothfuss :D.

I got some con exclusive goodies in this week’s Spoils and Tribute!

Reports from Other Lairs

Here are some awesome reviews and discussions you should check out :D Apparently I was in a fantasy mood this week ;-).

Doon from Parajunkee (5 stars, YA)

Magic Rises from Fantasy Book Cafe (9/10, UF)

  1. Eeeeep, I can’t wait to read the Fire & Ice series AND the Lotus War books :D You had a fantastic looking week despite being busy with exams! Best of luck with them though ~~

    • Thanks :D The Lotus War books are a little depressing given the setting, but I’m liking Kinslayer more so far since there is a lot of action and kicking bad guy butts :D

  2. Wow!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for tagging my in your blog! That’s amazing! You rock!

  3. I’m waiting for my copy of Bitter Kingdom to come in, then I plan on reading all three in a row (re-reading the first two). I’ve read the first two so I’m excited for it! :)
