Updates from the Lair 8/28/16

Updates from the Lair

Updates from the Lair is my weekly wrap-up post that includes what happened in my real life, what I’ve been reading, my posts from the week, and what I’m thinking about reading next week (and would love your advice on!).

Hello loves! I’m greeting you from deep in a Doctor Who binge session :D. I finally got the husband excited about Who and we are already on Season 6 of the reboot. He has firm opinions about Tennant vs. Smith so I guess I married well, ha! I’ve continued to have a lot of work to do this week, but was still able to sneak in a bit of reading.

My Week

The DevourersI started The Devourers on audiobook since it was what was on my phone when I finished the last one and wow am I in love! I knew I needed to read this one, but the audiobook is also fantastic with an amazing Indian narrator who brings all the different dialects to life. It’s one of those stories where I have no idea what is going on yet, but am loving it all the same.

MerrowI’m also almost done with Merrow :D. I’m really enjoying it and just need to find enough time to finish the last hour or so of reading ;-).

And in case you missed it, these were my posts this week:

Next Week’s Reading

(books up next on the reading list, thoughts?)

One more intense work week and then I’m off for Labor Day week! So probably just will keep reading what I am in the middle of currently. How about you tell me what you are planning to start next instead? :D

Happy Reading!

  1. Yay for sneaking in reading and Dr. Who binges! I think Tennant is still THE Doctor for me, but Smith grew on me. I didn’t mind him in Season 7(?) with Clara, but I never did manage to watch the Amy/Rory/River seasons all through. Maybe someday…when school is over and I have a life again. ;) Happy early Labor Day!

  2. Sounds like a great week. I still need to binge Dr. Who but I haven’t yet. I hear it’s an amazing show. I hope you have a great week. Happy reading!!!!

  3. I haven’t watch Who in two years! That’s fun that you have someone to watch with. Haha yes, you definitely married right.

Have a nice labor day! I’m having a family reunion..

  4. Good luck with the busy work week! Hope you have some time to relax afterwards.

As for me, I finished N.K. Jemisin’s The Obelisk Gate on Friday (which was just as stunning as TFS, I think) and have started Jay Kristoff’s Stormdancer. Then it’s on to Patrick Rothfuss’s The Slow Regard of Silent Things and A.J. Hartley’s Steeplejack. ;)
