Updates from the Lair 4/27/14

Updates from the Lair

Updates from the Lair is my weekly wrap-up post that includes what happened in my real life, what I’ve been reading, my posts from the week, and what I’m thinking about reading next week (and would love your advice on!).

April is just insane is my conclusion. I’m really glad that my final project due this past week was pushed back two precious days, but gah the stress! And then the exam is this coming week! But then I’ll be done with the term and definitely will be taking a week off of school to read and relax *pencils it in*. To go along with that, I’ll be doing two reading events in May! My goal is to get the 2 March and 13 April overdue review books taken care of! Possible? Yes. Probable? No… but a significant increase from the last couple months would be nice ;-). In any case, I’m going to be participating in:

Bout of Books and Clean Sweep ARC Challenge May 2014

Are you doing Bout of Books or Clean Sweep??

My Week

Rebel by Amy Tintera

I completely abandoned my schedule and dutiful reading lists and jumped into Rebel this week! I couldn’t resist, I’d been resisting so long and it was staring at me! Plus, I’m going to be on the blog tour, so this way I’ll be way on top of things :D. I’m really really enjoying Rebel. I can’t actually remember if Reboot had Callum’s PoV, but it’s a lot of fun to get into Callum’s head and things are definitely not dull ;-).

Sworn in Steel

So I read Among Thieves last weekend and it was awesome! I’m on the blog tour for Sworn in Steel and therefore need to finish it quickly, haha. As of writing this post, I haven’t actually started it, but I loved book one :D. *pets*

And in case you missed it, these were my posts this week:

Reports from Other Lairs

Check out Sci-fi and Fantasy Friday for the reviews and discussions I found this week!

Next Week’s Reading

(books up next on the reading list, thoughts?)

Plus One Earth Star Expiration Day

I’m being such a tease by putting up these books each week and not following through aren’t I? I’m sorry D: I am serious this week though, I will be reading one of these next! I saw a lot of votes for Plus One last week, so maybe that one? Or Earth Star (aliens!)? I actually started Expiration Day on the Minnesota trip and then realized I needed to read Rebel, so perhaps I’ll actually give Expiration Day a fair shot this week? Your vote matters!

Happy Reading!

  1. *waves hands and jumps up and down* Please read Plus One?? Not to be pushy… (totally pushing here) I just really want to see what you think of it! The cover is so pretty and I want to buy it but I need some extra opinions on whether it’s worth it or not :D

  2. Totally will be reading Expiration Day soon as well!

  3. April has definitely had a bit of crazy in it, though more so for those in school I know. Still, you’re almost there! And then you can relax! By participating in two read-a-thons…oh. Yeah. Good luck with that! ;)

And getting Plus One off the pile might be a good choice. I’ve read some other reviews for it and I’m very interested to see what you think.

    • And now I’m done :D Hence why I’m finally responding to comments, ahah.

I still haven’t had a chance to get to Plus One, but I’m trying, I promise D:

  4. Reading Sworn in Steel right now and it’s pretty awesome! Glad you liked Among Thieves too, I read that when it came out and I can’t believe it’s been so long ago. Good to be back adventuring with Drothe.

  5. I’m going to sign-up for Bout of Books since I have so many books I want to read on my Kindle. I want to start participating in you si-fi and fantasy Friday, but I may have to wait a couple weeks since I’m traveling to a graduation this next Friday and have guest the week after that. We’ll see if I can get my act together before that!

You sound much busier than I am so good luck with all you have to do and I will try to organize my time better…LOL.

    • Yey, that’s a great reason to read a bit more :D

Sounds good, and keep an eye out for a new fun thing added to SFFFriday ;-)

  6. Sounds like you’ve got a busy week next week!
