WWW Wednesday #9

WWW

It’s been a few weeks since I’ve done a WWW post, but I figured it was a good week to start again ;-). Especially because I actually finished some things recently so I can feel cool :D

What did you recently finish reading?

I for some reason start and finish books in waves, and found myself finishing Beggars and Choosers by Nancy Kress and then shortly (ie the next morning) forcing myself to finish  Moa by Tricia Stewart Shiu. I finished my review copy of Merciful Flush by Lance Manion a few days again, but that still counts right? Reviews of all are on their way!

What are you currently reading?

I’m still in theory working on my kindle edition of Loki but it has a strangely structured plot and slow pace, so it’s proving a little bit difficult when I have multiple library and review copies also demanding attention. A Clash of Kings by George R. R. Martin is my current audio book and I’m just about half-way through those discs (which is saying something since there are a lot….). I’m reading Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson for the read along and super loving it! I’m seeing a five star review in the future :D. Finally I received my first physical review copy, Second Skin by Peter Darrach and had to crack that open right away because I was so excited for a real physical book :D.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Under the Never Sky and Pure are sitting on my shelf in their library covers patiently waiting for me to read them quickly before needing to return them. My library just dumped a bunch of holds on me at the same time and I have two renews left so hopefully I can get to both of them. As far as Fifty Shades of Grey by E. L. James I will say right off that I really don’t think I will like this book, because I’m very sensitive to writing quality, but I’m determined not to judge a book without trying to read it, so I requested a Kindle copy from the library and am waiting to get access to that. I may or may not finish it and am perfectly all right with that as long as I try :).

Remember to subscribe for weekly reviews of awesome books!

What are you reading past/present/future?

  1. not sure about 50 shades? This guy is blogging it, chapter by chapter, and it’s hilarious!

might get you more interested in the book, might not. The writing of his blog posts (even the drunk one) seems of higher quality than the book.

    • Yeah, exactly, it’s purely because I feel bad dissing a book that I’ve never even cracked open. I’m only making myself read the first chapter xD Oo, that looks hilarious, thanks for the link!

  2. I’m more than halfway through A Game of Thrones and I’m really enjoying it. Perhaps I’ll get through the next two books by the end of the summer.

    Here’s my WWW Wednesdays.

  3. Ooh I loved Clash of Kings – I need to get started on the 3rd book. And I’m listening to Pure on audio now … it’s good but depressing.

    • Yeah, I’m hoping that I’ll finally be able to catch up to the series and read the books before the show covers them xD Though second season was a lot different than the book from what I’ve read so far ;-)

I don’t actually remember what Pure is about anymore since it was so long ago that I requested it, how depressing would you say? Make you sad about your own life depressing? Lol ;-) Just trying to gauge when I should start reading it!
