WWW Wednesday #20

Traveling last week meant catching up with school and work this week…. Hence, my confession:

What did you recently finish reading?

*sniffs* Nothing! I finished nothing! I was crazy productive with school and work, and therefore not productive with reading *cries* I feel like a failure (only kinda, I’m really okay with not finishing a book a week ;-) ). I almost wasn’t sure if I should write a WWW this week, but I wanted to! :-P

What are you currently reading?

I’m super close to being done with Fire (a disc or two), so that’s good since I have to return it soon! Also, it’s awesome. I didn’t make as much progress as I would have liked on Second Skin, Too, however, partially because I started new migraine medication this week, which makes me really sleepy when I take it before bed, and so I don’t get much before bed reading time in before conking out. Also, I’ve just been crazy busy. I got almost everything done on my massive real life to-do list though! Also I have been reading Mark of the Witch while exercising, since I feel pressure to get Netgalley books done fast, since I did the requesting and all. I’m at 25% with that one as of this weekend.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I’ll have to wait for Mermaid’s Madness by Jim C. Hines since another of our friends wanted to read the Princess series, so I released my borrowing of them so she could read them first :). In the mean time, I think I’m in the mood for the next Edge book more than Gunmetal Magic, just because, and The Lost Hero is on loan, so I should read that sooner rather than later too. I just gotta get through a couple review books so I feel justified in reading for me books for a little bit. C’mon reading time!

Remember to subscribe for weekly reviews of awesome books!

What are you reading past/present/future?

  1. I haven’t done so great finishing books these last few weeks, either, also because of school. Fire is a fantastic read– glad you think it’s awesome! Definitely recommend The Lost Hero for your next read, and hope you get some reading time away from school and work. :)

    • Yeah, I get especially bad when I’m working on review books that just don’t do it for me, but I want to get through to feel accomplished *sigh*. But I finished Fire yesterday! And I’m super close to being done with Second Skin, Too, so there is going to be a lot on this list next week.

The Lost Hero will be next then :D

  2. I wasn’t too fussed on Graceling but will definitely read the next book Fire as I’m intrigued by the last book BItterblue. I read and reviewed Covenant of the Faceless Knights a few months back and really enjoyed it so will look forward to your review on it :)

    • Really? You’re the first person I’ve run into who has read the Ashenclaw books! Have you read any of the other ones??

  3. Wish I had been crazy productive with school this week instead of reading. I finished…two books maybe, almost a third, and didn’t get nearly as much studying and work done as I had planned on. So I’m probably going to take a mini hiatus from reading for the rest of the week, except my nightly chapters of Pride and Prejudice before bed, so I can get studying [midterms] and papers written.

Super glad to hear you’re enjoying Fire. I think its the best out of Kristin Cashore’s trio, definitely my favorite. I hope you’re able to get more reading done over the next week since you got so much work done this week. :]

    • I’m definitely going to be making more of an effort (and have been) to read an hour at the end of the day at least, and hopefully a half hour while working out. Unfortunately there is always more work to do in grad school, but at least a lot of it is not immediately due now :D

Boo mini-reading hiatus… but yes, sometimes it is necessary to focus. I’m worried that I’m going to be disappointed that Graceling isn’t as good as Fire now xD
