WWW Wednesday #23

WWW Wednesday

Welcome to another WWW Wednesday! Oh dear, I appeared to have failed at the book timing thing again…. Shoot, I really need to learn xD.

What did you recently finish reading?

Spider's Bite by Jennifer Estep

I finished work early this weekend and was able to spend most of Sunday evening reading! It was awesome :D. This meant I was able to finish Spider’s Bite in a wonderful marathon reading session, write up the discussion post for it, and update this post, yey productivity!

What are you currently reading?

Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor Web of Lies by Jennifer Estep

I’m steadily progressing through Mark of the Witch. I’m liking how it is developing a lot more than how it started! Daughter of Smoke and Bone is freaking fantastic and makes me want to just drive around all the time! This is the problem with having an awesome audiobook xD. I have also just started on Web of Lies the sequel to Spider’s Bite, so that I can catch up on the read-along that I’m a whole month behind on :D.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Entangled by Nikki Jefford

For my Kindle book, if I can finish Mark of the Witch soon, then I need to read Entangled next, because it is expiring on Netgalley next month! Noooo! I don’t know what I’ll do about physical books…. Maybe I’ll try to get caught up on Kindle books full time since I think some of my other Netgalley books might expire soon, can’t have that!

What are you reading this week? Have you read any of these books?

Remember to subscribe for weekly reviews of awesome books!

What are you reading past/present/future?

  1. Thanks for stopping by to check out my list. I’m glad to have found yours, you have been busy. I look forward to more of your postings.

  2. Daughter of Smoke and Bone is on my to read list. I’ve heard great things about it. I haven’t read any of the books you listed, but I hope you enjoy them all! Thanks for stopping by. I’m following you back via email. =)

    • Thanks for following :D Daughter of Smoke and Bone is freaking fantastic, so I definitely hope you find a chance to read it sometime soon! Especially now that the sequel is coming out :D

I’m also catching up on my books in Netgalley. I don’t why these publishers have to accept requests all at the same time. It makes me crazy. One time I’ve been wishing to be accepted, the next day I’m full of books I don’t know where to start and then there’re a lot of books out of Netgalley as well. Agh!

Anyway, you’re so lucky to read Daughter of Smoke & Bone. I’ve been wanting to read that. Enjoy reading!

Thanks for droppin by my WWWWs!

    • I completely agree, I definitely am noticing a wave in the review books I get, it’s like they are trying to stress me out!

  5. Hello Anya, thanks for leaving a comment on my first ever WWW and for the follow! Lucky you getting a whole evening to read – so relaxing, a real reading fest.

    • Thanks so much for stopping by! I know, I don’t think it’s going to happen again for a while, so I had to take advantage, haha!

  6. I am going to be reading ‘Daughter of Smoke & Bone’ once I finish with ‘Cinder’ I hope you enjoy it.

Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier, returning some of the love <3.

    • Yey! Thanks for stopping by! I can’t recommend Daughter of Smoke and Bone enough, I’m so excited for the sequel :D

both Spider’s bite and daughter of smoke and bone are on my to-read list! I hope I can find them and read them soon :)

  8. Fantastic books this week. I love Jennifer Estep’s Mythos Academy series, but haven’t tried her other series. They look good, will have to check them out. I have Entangled to read also, so can’t wait to read your review. Daughter of Smoke and Bone I have also, but it’s down my list a bit at the moment.

Thanks for stopping by my WWW @ Turner’s Antics.
    -new follower also- :)

  9. I can’t wait to check out Daughter of Smoke and Bone…looks so good! I just have so many books that I have to read by certain dates I can’t get to it. Oh well, that is the story of the ever growing TBR! :)

  10. I just love when marathon reading sessions happen! I also know exactly how you feel about the audio of Daughter of Smoke and Bone as I went through the same thing. I got some really odd looks from my neighbors when they’d see me just sitting in my car. lol The same narrator reads the sequel and I am seriously considering pausing my current audio in order to get to it!

    My WWW Wednesday is here.

    • Awesome!!! I was worried that they’d change narrators, since I simply can’t adjust to a new narrator! I don’t know if I’ll be able to wait for my library to get the audio though, since I can’t afford to buy the audio, they are so expensive D:. We’ll see when I do :D Thanks for stopping by! Off to check out your list!

    • I’m really excited! I can only read one Kindle book at a time though, so I have to be good *works on getting through other book like a good girl* O:D Thanks for stopping by!

  11. Yay for productivity! I was kicking post butt yesterday myself, lots of scheduled goodness.

I’m also reading Daughter of smoke and Bone, but its a reread for me since I wanted it fresh in my mind since I had pre-ordered Days of Blood and Starlight. And I love the book just as much this time around as I did the first time. I’m glad you are too! :D

    • Nice! I need to do that… Life has just been soooo busy lately that I have reviews that I really need to get to just sitting around *le sigh* what can you do?

I’m really hoping that Day of Blood and Starlight is available through my library, I have a general no buying new books rule given my poor student status, but I really want to read it D:

      • I’m usually horrid about it. But somehow I ended up almost a month ahead in posts, ALMOST, and I’ve kind of gotten spoiled now. I love not having to stress it the night before. I don’t think I’m behind on reviews yet…well, not the writing of them anyway. I’m beyond behind on review books, and if you couldn’t tell by the fact that I’m doing a reread, I’m only getting further behind. But I was so excited for this book, so, like you said, what can you do? Sometimes the heart just wants what the heart wants.

If your library is anything like my library it will probably take awhile. A long while. But I know some librarians are open to suggestions when it comes to getting new books so you might want to drop a few hints. I know how the poor student status goes, I was only able to get an influx of new reads because of my birthday last month. Giftcards for the win! :D

        • I can get ahead on reviews sometimes if I get inspired/read shorter books, but I never get ahead on other posts, just too much typing and thinking and gathering of images etc! I don’t think it’s possible to be caught up on review books! I don’t know if I ever have been, except before I got my first one ;-). I accepted a while ago that I would get to them when I got to them and that this is my hobby. I already have a full time job as a graduate student, I don’t need to stress more :D.

          Happy super belated birthday btw!!

          • The reviews are a lot easier for me to get ahead on, since I read so much and always try to write a review as soon as I finish a book, then the other posts. I’m horrible at forgetting about those. That’s why I have to write myself a list and start going through and checking them off. I have most of the images saved on my blog so that helps but some of them like WWW Wednesday I can’t really do until Tuesday, same with my book haul post, I can’t do that one until the day before either. But they’re some of my favorites…of course. xD

I’m pretty much drowning in review books. I had to post on my blog that I’m no longer excepting review books right now…though Netgalley is still getting me into trouble. But I’m no longer checking daily, so I guess that’s progress! Lol.

I have seven classes left [so about another year the way my school works], after this semester, before I get my B.A. in Literature…and then on to graduate school, which I’m pretty much terrified of. Not looking forward to that application process at all. But I totally understand the not needing to stress more. I try to keep things as fun and simple as possible. Quite the crazy balancing act really.

            And thank you! :D

          • I check Netgalley only when I am wanting more review books, that is my devious strategy :D

Oo, so I’m graduate school now, first year :D Let me know if you need cheering on or advice for the application process! I’m in for a computer science degree, so that’s a little different, but I figure at least some things are probably similar, like the terror, haha!

          • Smart plan. I think I might adopt that strategy.

I will definitely do that! Lol. The basic process is probably about the same anyway. I would think anyway.

Ah, the universality of terror. I’m pretty sure programs like that feed of it. xD

  12. Oooh good for you for having a productive week and extra time this week end to do some reading! I’ll be anxious to read your thoughts on Spider Bite and I’m thrilled that you’re loving DoS&B :D I’m also curious as to what you’ll think of Entangled when you start it! Thanks for sharing your progress Anya :)

    • Of course I’m paying for my extra time this weekend by having noooo time this week, but oh well! Thanks for stopping by :D
